BASIC JOB FUNCTION:
This position is responsible for supervising and coordinating all clinical aspects for the leading company in the domestic medical travel industry. The Health Services Director will be responsible for patient care coordination while working with providers, health plans, and plan sponsors to assess, plan, and facilitate patient care. The individual will coordinate, monitor and evaluate options and services required to meet an individual’s health needs, using communication and available resources to promote quality, and collect outcomes data.

JOB DUTIES
Manage incoming patient calls and direct beneficiary to their plan specific benefit options.
Verify eligibility of member and identify procedure requested.
Assist with patient education of surgical options to include: destinations available, cost to beneficiary, concerns in regards to medical travel, medical travel process, and preferred dates of travel.
Initiate intake process and gathering of documents and medical records required for acceptance into the plan benefit.
Coordinate with Remote Medical Provider/Facility to determine if patient is a candidate for Medical Travel and scheduling of procedure.
Schedule all travel and accommodations for patient and companion.
Collection of outcomes and quality data for ongoing quality improvement.
On-going follow-up with patients at predetermined intervals.
Develop alternate plans and assists patients to navigate the health care system optimizing benefits.
Patient advocacy
Perform Medical Management services for all lines of business.
Comply with HIPAA, Ethics Guidelines, Compliance Program policies and other applicable company policies.
Maintain confidentiality of company business.
Maintain communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Registered Nurse (RN) with unrestricted license in state.
3 years of acute care nursing experience with additional experience in case management or care coordination in the hospital, homecare, rehabilitation or health plan environment.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
